Does lens replacement hurt?
In this video, Dan Nguyen answers, ‘Does lens replacement hurt’?
Lens replacement surgery doesn’t hurt. It’s one of the most common things that I get asked about. My team and I are here to make the whole process and journey as smooth, reassuring, and comfortable as possible.
Lens replacement surgery (refractive lens exchange) is a medical procedure that can improve your vision and correct eye conditions such as presbyopia. This is when your eyes age.
It’s a surgical procedure that often gets mistaken for cataract surgery. This is because it uses the same technique of replacing the eye’s natural lens. But for RLE, we treat patients with presbyopia, not cataracts. We have a separate treatment for cataracts.
We replace your natural lens with lens implants, reducing your reliance on glasses or contact lenses. While the healing process may involve mild discomfort, it improves fairly quickly, particularly when using prescribed eye drops.
Rest assured, and lens replacement surgery offers an opportunity to enhance your visual capabilities and experience life to its fullest potential.
One of the most common things patients say to me after the surgery is, “Was that it?” They can’t believe how comfortable and quick the process was for them. And they can’t believe how and why they waited so long before getting their operations done.
